We have 3 year old twin boys and they love cars, trains and other vehicles so this wooden Plan Toys Road & Rail set was just perfect for them as it contains a railway track and road system.
This set is made from natural rubberwood with non-toxic water based dyes so we don’t have to worry if they put a piece in their mouths and the couplings on the trains are plastic rather than magnetic than can be found on other sets, this is a great safety features as magnets and toddlers don’t mix.
The set comes with 42 pieces; 28 road and track pieces including 2 pieces to make a bridge, 3 train carriages, 1 car, 2 road signs, 4 houses and 4 pieces of shrubbery and assembly instructions.
Putting together the set is extremely easy, the road and railway track pieces just clip together and the instructions are not really necessary.
The railway track is a single track and the train carriages slot into the groves on the track edges to smoothly glide around the track. The road is a two lane road (although only one car is supplied but other cars be added from the Plan Toys range). The track can also be used and expanded with other sets in the range.
Our boys love playing with this set and already use their other cars with it. They especially love rolling the train down the bridge.
Overall this is a quality set that is made from sustainable natural rubberwood, non-toxic paints and glues and with the plastic train connectors rather than metallic couplings it is great for the safety conscious parents.
We, including the twins, give it a big thumbs up.
