I was very excited to be chosen to review La Tasca at Broadgate in London. La Tasca is a Spanish Tapas bar and they have restaurants across the country. We had previously visited their one in Milton Keynes. We had a table booked for Friday lunchtime. The restaurant is a short walk from Liverpool Street station, and is very easy to find. After the hustle and bustle of London the restaurant was very airy and tranquil. The restaurant was downstairs and very cool and welcoming.

On Arrival we were warmly welcomed and shown to our seats. There was quiet music playing which created a peaceful and tranquil ambience, which I found very relaxing. It was evident from the tables that they could cater for couples and small and large parties. The staff were cheery and polite at all times and incredibly helpful. The restaurant was clean and looked fabulous, fitting in well with the Spanish theme. The toilets were clean and looked nice.

Our drinks order was taken as soon as we were ready and was with us in minutes. I chose a Tropical Sangria to drink which was absolutely heavenly. There were several other delicious sounding sangrias that I can’t wait to try in the future.

We were recommended to choose three tapas dishes each, which we did. There was a lot of choice and after much deliberation we selected the Langostinos, which was Wild Patagonian tiger prawns, salt-baked over a piping-hot plancha. They were delicious and easy to shell. My husband chose the Hake, which was served with chipotle chilli jam. I’m not normally a fan of chillis but these were divine. My favourite was the Calamares which are crispy squid sprinkled with sea salt. We also ordered a Festival of Mushrooms which were mushrooms sautéed in garlic butter and white wine. Delicious! We also ordered Huevos Cabreaos which is a Spanish take on egg and chips and was very popular with us! The final dish we chose was Montadito de Cerdo which was toasted bread with pulled pork and red chilli salsa. The whole meal was mouth-watering! I love the idea of sharing different foods and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal at La Tasca. It was beautifully cooked and well presented.

Whilst at the restaurant we saw they had an offer for Tapas for under a tenner. Which consisted of a starter and three Tapas from their set menu, which we felt would be very good value! They also have a loyalty scheme with full details on their website.

We highly recommend this restaurant! The food and service were outstanding! Top marks from us!!
