I was fortunate to receive a wonderful package from Evolve Organic skincare to review. Many years ago, I qualified as a beauty therapist and have always loved products, but circumstances of life meant that my budget fell and I have been a Simple and L’Oreal user ever since.

When I opened the outer box there was a good quality light green, box with a simple and tasteful logo on the top. The box was protected from damage with bio-degradable noodles. Inside the product box, it is well packed to again protect the boxed products.

I was sent six products to review:

I started with Kalahari Dream Cleansing Oil, an oil to milk cleanser and make-up remover. I am not a fan of washing my face, I tend to use cleansers that use cotton wool. However, this product is just beautiful, you only need a small amount to massage into your face, after wetting your hands the oil turns to a creamy texture and you rinse. It smells DIVINE. It reminded me of Amaretto. It removed all my make-up including eye make-up with no irritation.

I followed the cleanser with the Rose Quartz Facial Polish, a light exfoliator that left my face feeling fresh and smooth, it has been a while since I used a facial exfoliator, and it did give me a dewy glow. It is a lovely gentle product with a lighter scent that the cleanser.

After the scrub I used, the 360 Eye and Lip Contour, the package describes this as an age defying eye and lip care with peptides and caffeine. You only need a small amount of the lotion so the 15ml bottle should last a while. It also has a pump action lid with a locking lid so no spillages should happen. It has a slightly oriental smell to it and one of the ingredients is green tea so perhaps that is where that comes from.

To finish my pamper on day one I used the Age Defying Multi Peptide cream. This is a much thicker cream than I am used to, however it absorbs into the skin easily and I didn’t have to wait very long to apply my make-up. It has a very pleasant citrus smell. Every product that I trialled so far has been beautiful, my skin has felt great afterwards. Luckily for me, I still had 2 more products to try, a Bio-Retinol Glossy Lip Oil. I really loved this light moisturising lip gloss. My lips felt moisturised and hydrated, with a hint of glamourous glow. The glossiness did not last all afternoon, but I did not mind topping it up- and to be honest I find the longer lasting lip products, leave my lips feeling dry and cracked. The gloss has a minty scent and leaves your lips with a slight tingle from the mint.

The final product that I was sent was a rosehip Miracle Oil, I decided to use this at the end of a busy day at teaching when I wanted a pamper. Before I used it, I cleansed my skin thoroughly with the cleansing oil and dried before using the Miracle oil as a massage oil for my face and neck. I really enjoyed the coverage from just a small amount of oil; I was able to slide my hands over my face gently without any tugging and as a 51-year-old my skin can use all the extra moisturising it can get. I would recommend using the oil at night and then blotting with a tissue. If you wanted to use during the day I would leave time for oil to fully absorb before applying make-up.

I absolutely adored this gift box; every product had a wonderful scent and had a feel of luxury. This would make a fabulous Christmas gift; I would be delighted if I found this under my tree…. I may have to leave hints because I am not sure my Simple and L’Oreal are going to cut the mustard from now on.
