One For All Rechargeable Wireless TV Headphones Review

Television sets are a part of family life but what do you do when you want to watch television without disturbing other people? When I was a child television sets where a lot smaller so sitting closer with a pair of wired headphones plugged in wasn’t that big of a deal. These days televisions are a lot larger and sitting too close isn’t a great idea, especially with the larger screens, as the closer you get the quality isn’t perfect, they are designed to be watched from a distance. So unless you use extension cables to extend the length of the cable on your wired headphones and have cables trailing across the floor, which could be dangerous for others, then you really need a pair of wireless headphones. So I was delighted when I received the Rechargeable Wireless TV Headphones (Model no: HP 1030) from One For All to review.

In the box was; 1x rechargeable wireless headphones with 3.5mm jack, charging/sending station, power adapter, 1 metre extension cable 3.5mm to 3.5mm, RCA to 3.5mm adapter, 2x rechargeable AAA batteries and a quick start guide.

Setup is very simple. Plug the power adapter and 3.5mm extension cable in to the charger/sending station, plug the 3.5mm jack into the headphone socket of the television (you will need to unplug if you want sound from the TV rather than the headphones) and plug the power adapter into a spare plug socket. Install the rechargeable batteries into the headphones (twist off one of the ear caps and the batteries fit behind it). Charge the batteries for a few hours and then you are ready to go.

Once fully charged press the power button on the headphones and press scan. The light should change to green once connected to the sender.

Now time to see if they work and if they are actually any good!

I don’t generally like wearing headphones (I prefer an earbud) as I have always found them fiddly to adjust to fit my head and always find them uncomfortable. This set from All For One have a self-adjusting headband, that actually works, so they fit on to my head without having to adjust anything and they are very comfortable, not just on the headband part but on the ears as well.

The sound is crystal clear (although I did have to turn the volume up on the television) and with it being a wireless connection I haven’t yet experienced any sound loss or dropped sound. The wireless connection gives a range of up to 100 metres and I have been able to walk around the house without losing connection so can still listen to the TV while in other rooms (handy for when I want to go into the kitchen to make a cup of tea). The ear caps also reduce external noise in the room.

Because the headphones are rechargeable, just place them back on the charger when not in use to charge up for your next viewing.

I was concerned that the headphones would be quite heavy and unbalanced with the weight of the batteries on one side but it doesn’t seem to affect the headphones and they are relatively lightweight and comfortable.

These headphones are a joy to use and give you freedom of movement. Easy to set up, no cables trailing across the room and they have crystal clear sound. You should be able to get 12 hours of use between charging of the batteries but I haven’t tried this as when I finish I automatically put back on the charger.

They have Voice Clear technology, which emphasises speech whilst dimming background noise and enhancing the voice spectrum, making sure you hear every single word during a TV show or radio program.

These are definitely worth the retail price of £49.99. I can highly recommend these.
