Today I have the chance to review a classic, iconic bear. The one and only Master Paddington Bear. We love Paddington Bear in our house. As I took him out of the delivery box, my husband remembered the day his mum brought him one; it is still at his parents’ house, over 50 years later. Paddington Bear first came onto the scene and into our hearts when the author Michael Bond wrote a book called A Bear Called Paddington in 1958. Since then, he has had tea with Queen Elizabeth, starred in a couple of films, and appeared in a West End show, to name a few.

My little Paddington is from Rainbow Designs; he is 25 centimetres tall, has cute red Wellington boots on, and his famous blue parka, with its wooden buttons, a red felt hat, and not forgetting his tag, which reads Please look after this Bear, thank you.

Paddington is made of a supersoft light caramel brown plush material, which makes him really soft to the touch. His little red boots do come off and are monogrammed on the bottom of them; they also fit back on easily. Paddington’s blue coat also has a gold monogram on its left-hand side; on the original bear, this is where the pocket would have been, and the hood of the coat has a tartan lining. You can again remove his coat, should you wish to; it is again easy to put back on. Paddington’s red felt hat, however, is stuck to his head, probably with a marmalade sandwich! Paddington has been really well made; it has been recommended for ages 10 months+. This is due to the buttons and eyes, as a choking risk. I have been a bit rough with poor Paddington; however, he has held together, with not a loose eye or ripped seam in sight. Paddington is washable but only by hand, and air-dry.

This Paddington is 25 centimetres in height, which I think is a perfect size for young children to play with and carry about. Also, if you are a collector and want to just put him on a shelf, he is a great size for that too.

I love this little Paddington Bear; he has a cheeky little face, and he is a lovely representation of the original bear. I think that any Paddington Bear fan or lover of Bears would love to have this little bear in their collection. He is really tactile, super soft, and really well made.

My delivery came from APC, which, if I had a choice, I would use again; the packaging was very minimal- just a recyclable cardboard box. I received a text message with a delivery time, and they were on time. Rainbow Designs’ delivery times are usually 2-3 days; however, currently only mainland UK. Delivery below £25 costs £3.50; anything over is free of charge.

The 25 centimetre Paddington Bear with red boots is retailing at £23.99 online with Rainbow Designs, which I personally think is a great price for little Paddington, he iconic. He would make a lovely birthday, new baby, christening, or Christmas gift.

I would rate this Paddington Bear from Rainbow Designs 4 out of 5.

Rating: 4/5

It is really well made and very cute; however, I do think there should be a pocket on his coat! Otherwise, it would have been 5/5. You can purchase the 24.5 cm Paddington Bear with boots online from www.rainbowdesigns.co.uk
