I was delighted to review this leopard teething comforter with my 6-month-old grandson.  It is a brightly coloured (navy, purple and green), leopard print on a square (40cm x 40cm), muslin which is double thickness and is tied to a wooden (wood used is beech), ring.
Simple, yet very effective.

My grandson spotted this comforter immediately on his mat and the first thing he did was grab the labels and feel them. (the labels provide washing instructions as well as advertise the company “etteloves.com”). Next, he grabbed with his other hand the cloth feeling the edges before – you guessed it, bringing the muslin to his mouth and sucking on it. He then dropped it to grab another teether on his mat, but you could still see him looking at this teething comforter (Lovely bright pattern), and once again after dropping the other teether, he reached out for this comforter and this time grabbed onto the beech ring and brought this to his mouth and tried to chew it. My grandson has two bottom teeth and his top teeth are beginning to show so he must be enjoying the feel of the beech ring against his gums and teeth. The ring went in and out of his mouth and his other hand had grabbed the cloth, (I felt it and it is certainly soft). He played with this for a while but then dropped it in favour of a toy. Later on in the day when he was tired and we were about to go for a walk, I handed him the comforter and he put the corner of the muslin in his mouth and gently sucked it. With his other hand, he was gently rubbing another area of the cloth. Continuing these movements, he drifted off to sleep. Bliss.

A postcard came with the comforter and on the back of it, it had ten suggestions in picture form and written English on what you can do with this comforter both for the baby and you. The suggestions ranged from having it on the edge of the play mat which I initially did to having it hanging above changing mat or on the pram hood with the help of a clip. A clip is a must here as you certainly do not want to lose it and already, I am thinking as he is clearly appreciating this comforter that I may need to get another one as we might be in trouble if he loses this!

I liked the fact that you can actually buy the muslin separately to the ring as the ring is not going to wear out as quickly as the muslin plus you could tie a different patterned muslin on to the ring too if you wished. Additional patterns available for teethers are blue leopard print, peanut and terrazzo. If you just want the muslin which you can have from new born, there are other patterns such as dandelion and eyes (black and white).

My grandson clearly likes this, and I like the fact the muslin is made of bamboo fibre and the teether is made of wood plus the feel of it is very soothing. Certainly the print is bright and cheerful and was designed to support visual development (their website states this development is from 5 months onwards). One of the labels that came with the product says that these products are designed alongside an expert in children’s vision. I agree it certainly stimulates his sensory development both in terms of visual but also cognitive development and I would recommend this both as a comforter and a teether but did not give it a 5 star rating due to the price.
