I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the wicked mega bounce XL ball, I think I was more excited than my 5 year old daughter and her cousins aged 3 and 8.
The ball arrived promptly and substantially packaged in a cardboard box. The box a vibrant red as with all wicked products and the picture and the wording made it’s contents known without any confusion, the ball comes in two colours (red and blue) we received the blue. All the contents were intact and accounted for, now all that was left to do was to inflate.
The ball usefully comes with its own foot pump, there are very concise pictorial instructions on the box which make the inflation fool proof. Once the tube has been connected to the pump and the valve inserted into the ball all that is needed was an energetic pump. Before long the ball was firm and ready, at a massive 2.51m circumference, all that was left to do is disconnect and insert the white stopper valve which stops any air escaping. Easy Peasy.
My daughter just loved playing with this with her cousins it’s rare to find something that will keep them all engaged, given it’s size we designated it as an outdoor toy-they were initially playing with it in the garden but given the height of the bounce we decided to take it to the park to test it out to full capacity before we lost it over the fence. This provided hours of fun and was robust enough to hurl around with force and be sat on and lolloped over without any issues, the ball remained as firm as before we started playing with it. The non-slip graphics on the ball allow for easier handling. The ball was definitely the hit of the weekend and hours were spent with it in the paddling pool as well as rolling, catching, chasing it down a hill and a heated game of piggy in the middle too. I could see us using this down the beach and would be a great addition to our camping trips.
The ball can easily be deflated for travel or storage which is a plus given its massive size, you can use the same foot pump for this.
The ball retails at £20 which I think is money well spent given the hours of entertainment it has provided and the multiple games and play opportunities. It kept the kids well occupied and importantly active, the only drama was them fighting over it. I’m hopeful it’s longevity will live up to my expectations. I would recommend this ball to anyone with active children.
Wicked have various other balls in their mega bounce range, they have smaller versions of the XL which would probably be better for little people and could be used indoors. There is also Mega Bounce XTR which cites it is the worlds bounciest ball but I would be most keen to see the mega bounce H20 in action which skims and bounces on the water.
Brilliant, fun products would definitely purchase from them in the future.
