The Little Sock Company Classic Peter Rabbit Easter Surprise Baby And Toddler Gift Set Review

A delightful gift for a young toddler for Easter that will bring joy to both toddler and parents without encouraging sweet things at such a young age. I was really pleased to be chosen to do this review as I was wondering what to give my grandson for Easter which was not chocolate and was still an Easter gift. The little sock company have solved the problem. He is now at the age where anything gift wrapped is a present for him, so he enjoyed sitting on the floor and tearing the tissue paper that surrounded the square brown cardboard box with the words “the little sock co. socks that stay on for little ones” in white on the lid of the box. With a little bit of help, the box was opened and there was more white tissue paper to tear. This was held together with navy blue ribbon and a sticker which was printed with the name of the company and a picture of a stripy sock. This is a lovely gift wrapped present. Inside this tissue paper were two pairs of socks, a plush Peter Rabbit toy and a Peter Rabbit Easter Surprise board book. My grandson is now 19 months old, so he is more confident with his walking. He wears shoes/boots outside but as soon as he is inside the house, he takes these off. His socks hardly last more than a few minutes before they come off as they have already slipped off his heel. As soon as he saw the socks, he was tugging at them so despite the instructions on the card attached to each pair of socks stating washing is recommended for the socks to fit perfectly, we tried a pair out. These socks are ideal as they are non-slip and he loved them. It was good to see he was able to walk without a possible slip on our wooden floors. I do not think he was too concerned with the colours though I like blue for both boys and girls, so I was pleased with the blue /green/grey/pink colours on the stripy pair and the navy with white dots on the other pair.

I like the fact the socks are by age as I find toddler and baby sizes hard to figure out in cm or shoe size. The socks are mainly cotton (87%) which is good for the feet. Once the socks were on, my grandson picked up the Peter Rabbit and stroked the ears, very sweet. I felt it and it is lovely and soft certainly a toy any baby or toddler would enjoy. I then took the board book out of the box. The pages are beautifully illustrated with only a few words so you can concentrate on the pictures which have lots of details in the form of animals and plants which for my grandson must be heaven as he loves farms and birds and furry animals. We had a lovely few minutes looking at each page and pointing out the animals and plants on each page and “Grandma” enjoyed providing the necessary animal noises with a little help from her grandson.

This gift ticks so many boxes as clothing is always a useful gift and no matter how many children you have, a new pair of socks always comes in handy and if these are also non slip they are an essential part of the clothing. Soft, velvet toys are lovely to touch and the Peter Rabbit plush toy is very nicely put together and also very easy to hold. This is an excellent Easter gift from grandparents, friends and other members of the family for a young child or baby and can easily be given as a birthday gift if the birthday falls near Easter. The only thing I question is the price as it is nearly £34.80 which I think is on the steep side for a book (£6.99), My first Peter Rabbit (£15.99) so about £12 for 2 pairs of socks and a sturdy gift box . Also as the gift is under £35 there are shipping costs involved which start at is £2.95 for Standard UK delivery.
