VTECH 3-in-1 ride With Me Motorbike Review

Any toy that can ‘grow’ with my child is certainly a welcome addition in our household. The VTECH 3-in-1 ride with me motorbike is a combination of a walker (to assist our little munchkins getting ‘on the move’), a ‘3’ wheeler ride on, before it then converts into a ‘2’ wheel balance bike!

With this item being suitable for toddlers aged 12-36 months, it covers a decent 2 year time period of growth and assists with the huge developmental changes that a child goes through during this age bracket. With a longer lasting time frame for the use of this toy, it means our house (and for many other homes whereby space is a valuable commodity) is not fully overtaken by 3 separate toys/ items i.e. a walker, trike and then balance bike which are discarded quickly once the child ‘outgrows’ it. Also, not to mention the impact of plastic products on the environment and landfill that are readily discarded and which we are mindful of trying to minimise where possible.

The bike comes with an interactive dashboard (requires 2 x AA batteries which are already supplied) that not only has an ignition key which makes my darling daughter feel like the bike is the ‘real deal,’ but it also plays over 80 different songs/melodies (many of our favourite tunes that we can all sing along with but there are also many new ones for us to learn) and has buttons to push with phrases and others sounds (like location buttons i.e fire station, postoffice) too. All of these extra little additions help to encourage our children to use their imaginations for interactive play and to explore many everyday scenarios in daily life.

If your child is anything like mine, then the sound of a siren results in an inquisitive little mind being activated! Ears prick up, a smile raised, a nose gets pushed high into the air, and the ‘nosey Parker’ in my darling little girl comes out to play! So why not use this bike to pretend like you are visiting the fire station and about to go and help save people!

The motorbike itself is made of plastic but has an exciting design with lovely bright colours that would appeal to both boys and girls. It was extremely simple and easy to assemble (always a bonus) and it seems like a quality product.

When we went for a walk earlier today, something that came to mind is that the child may have difficulty using it on certain terrains. The wheels would probably best suit being used on carpet or hard flooring indoors, or on a relatively smooth flat surface outside like tarmac. I would avoid using it on gravel or shingle and I don’t think it would be suitable on some of our walks that we go on.

Even before our little one graced us with her presence, we had certainly heard of the company V-TECH and knew they were renowned for making interactive and educational toys, but we had never experienced purchasing any of the products that they are associated with. On visiting their website (www.vtech.co.uk) I was really surprised to see the extensive range of items they offer and the large age range that they cater for. The website allows you to browse via age range (newborn – 9years) or via brand. There is even a section for buying baby monitors.
The website was super easy to navigate through and each product has a separate page with clear pictures demonstrating the item along with the price and general info (specification, description, features etc) regarding each item whereby you can then select to buy it should you so wish.

With Easter and Spring just around the corner and the longer days ahead, why not get outside with your little one and have fun going on walks with them whilst they play on their motorbike. This VTECH 3-in-1 ride with me motorbike would make a brilliant Easter gift for a child instead of chocolate, which although they may love, is short lived. It’s always better to give a child some exercise and fun over sugar, which only leads to a huge and unwelcome energy spike!!
