From Canal Toys Street Food Crush is a 3 pack and contains everything you need to create 1 pizza, 1 burger and 2 Tacos, I spent a lovely afternoon with our 6 year old making all these, each type of food is packaged separately, we opened the one for pizza first and kept the others closed so nothing got mixed up, I was eager to get creating but our six year old insisted that we feel the different textures of the slime first, she was fascinated by them and rightly so, they weren’t all the same as I had originally thought, inside the pack for pizza was a little pizza tray a mould dough for the pizza base three different colours of dough for the toppings and four different types of slime/dough for the sauce and the olive oil, the pictorial instructions were very easy to follow, the only difficulty we had was getting the dough out of the moulds without changing the shape, this didn’t bother our 6 years old at all she just started making her own toppings free style, we took photos of the finished pizza and it looked fantastic the colours of the dough/slime were so vibrant they photographed really well.

My plan was to make just one item per day but we couldn’t wait and went on to make the burger and 1 taco they both had a really cute basket and checked napkin to serve them in and a plastic cutting tool to which our 6 year old exclaimed “I’ve always wanted one of those“ just like the pizza they all turned out great. We’ve even got a little bit of dough left over to make our own creation and all the plastic pieces are packed away to be used with other doughs.

I was so proud of what we’d made I wanted to keep them for displaying but our 6 year old had seen the picture at the end of the instructions showing them being crushed, I guess that’s why it’s called “Street Food Crush” so she went ahead and crushed them into a big blob of dough she had so much fun doing this and was engrossed in the change of texture, I got over the destruction of our creation, at least I had the photos to remind me of them.

Here are my tips, make sure you put a protective cover on the surface your using, the dough can be very sticky when first removed from the packaging, leave it for a minute to air dry and it won’t be as sticky, you might want to use a rolling pin to flatten the dough and we also used a skewer to get dough out of the moulds. Take photos before they are crushed.

Overall it is a really fun project, box states for age 6+ and I wouldn’t recommend it for any younger than this, priced at £14.99 this makes an excellent gift for Christmas or other celebration.
