So we are a family of 4, with 2 of them being primary school children aged 6 and 9, finding ourselves, like the rest of the country in another lockdown. We were in tier 3 before lockdown and will probably find ourselves in the same situation again when this round of lockdown is over. Unfortunately we don’t live anywhere near our families so we are trying to make things as normal and fun for them as we can as they love Christmas and going to see everyone. On a walk to school one evening my daughter noticed that a few houses had already put up some Christmas decorations and had asked if we could too. Well it’s mid November an waaaay too early for us to put up our decorations, but you know what, if it gives the kids a bit of hope for a normal Christmas then, then sure, why not.

Well I couldn’t believe my luck when we were chosen to review Snow Windows The Christmas Window Stencil Pack. We haven’t got a tree up yet as we get a real one an all the tree farms are currently closed but we have lots of other Christmas tat, ornaments and lights up. When the pack of stencils hit out doormat, we pretty much ripped it open and got to work. The Snow Stencil kit contains 4 reusable stencils that can be arranged in whatever way you would like to create a wonderful, winter snowy scene. We were also sent a can of snow to create the scene with.

Now both my husband and I are not at artistically minded at all so using precut stencils is definitely for us. In fact, we are so un-creative, when me and the kids started to arrange the stencils to create our window display we just ended up copying the picture in the packet, which, I have to say has turned up looking beautifully. It was so easy to do! We wet the window slightly and arranged the clear plastic stencils in the way we wanted and just open the can and sprayed. We slowly peeled off the stencils and stood back and admired the view. The kids were so chuffed that they wanted to do it on every window, luckily the stencils are reusable. Unfortunately, the individual stencils are just slightly to big to fit the windows in out 5 bay window frame but I think if we trimmed a few mms from the edges they would work a treat.

As added extras’s we were also given a 2020 Bauble of Hope tree decoration. It’s a flat, circular bauble that is an ode to 2020, the year of the lockdown. It’s has a positive message displayed on it which says 2020 is the year of friendship, family, love, remembering and supporting. It’s an absolutely positive spin on what this year has meant and it’s right, 2020 has been a very trying year but out of it has come love from our friends and families, support of our vulnerable neighbours and remembering ones we have lost. It’s the oddest year we have ever experienced but this bauble is something that we can treasure for years to come so that we can remember what we overcame.

We also had a The Rainbow Christmas 2020 Sticker which depicts Santa and his reindeer riding on a wave of rainbow stars.

Snow Windows sells effective, fuss and mess free Christmas decorations which I thoroughly recommend. I have already told my friends about them. In addition to this, Snow Windows also donate money from their sakes to www.home-start.org.uk. Home-Start is a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support helping families with young children through their challenging times. Their website states “we are there for parents when they need us the most because childhood can’t wait”. What a lovely organisation to donate to!
