Firstly, I need to point how how amazed I was to learn the first time round after reviewing a previous item from this company, that this kit is also environmentally friendly as it is made using 100% sustainable cardboard and paper, making it eco-friendly too.
Being an absolute fan of any toy that encompasses sensory and interactive play, I find it is extremely important for any child’s development.
Cognitive learning is also very important when it comes to interactive play and there is so much that can be learnt through this, including counting, imagination, observation, hand and eye co-ordination and so much more. Just let your child’s imagination run wild and you will be surprised with your help and interaction how much they can really learn from building playing with this.
This company really thought of it all, from environment to STEM play (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). FANTASTIC!
It is so easy to put together and once built, the periscope extends up to 61 centimetres (please see below for further conversations of this measurement).
One you have built the periscope, the little ones (and sometimes the adults lol) are ready to go out on an adventure. We put a list together of items that could be seen from our garden and the field behind us. This was great as there are no other properties as we felt it was important that the grandchildren knew they could not look into other peoples houses and gardens etc. We started off with 20 items and they were ticked off each time they found them. It was brilliant and they had so much fun. I got them looking for wildlife, the local sheep and horses, looking through hedgerows and before we knew it, we had been out nearly 3 hours! WOW! Not a piece of technology in sight.
The mirror is of brilliant quality and so very clear too. The view finder where the mirrors are just perfect and sits neatly and comfortably on your face. I love the fact that the mirrors come with a safety cap, what a great way to protect them from dust and dirt etc.
I absolutely love the handles that are each side of the periscope, it means you can safely and securely hold on tight whilst having a good look around. It is so lightweight and ergonomically designed that and child would love it.
