A charming mix of characters set the scene as we join them on New Year's Eve and watch them busily prepare to make this the best day of their lives. Each character has an interesting story to tell and a lesson to be learned as they wonder if the magic of a new year will change their lives forever.

Stan Harris (De Niro) lays in his hospital bed hoping to make one last wish possible before the clock strikes midnight whilst the rock star Jensen (Bon Jovi) wonders if the love of his life will forgive him and give him a second chance.

As this unravels the shy Ingrid (Pfeiffer) starts the task of achieving her ambitious new year's resolutions with the help of Paul (Effron) as other members of the star studded cast strive to make it a night to remember.
