Lululemon emailed me to let me know the product was being despatched and it took a week from then to arrive, via Royal Mail. The person who emailed me was polite and responsive when I emailed back to them.
The grip arrived in a large brown envelope (along with another hair accessory). The envelope was a little large, (even for both items), but it was recyclable, as was the cardboard that the grip was attached to. The grip was further wrapped in a small bubble-wrap bag to prevent it from breaking during shipping.
The grip was different shades of pink striping, a really nice colour, with the Lululemon logo imprinted on it and has three “arms” on either side and the spring mechanism is silver. The grip retails at £10.
The arms of the grip are longer than any I have ever seen for a “small” grip. This is great for me as I have quite thick, long hair and small grips, and bigger grips for that matter, cannot often keep all my hair held in. I also find bigger grips just don’t always look nice stuck on the back of my head.
The Lululemon small grip, however, held all my hair in place, either in a ponytail or all clipped up on the back of my head, and wasn’t so big that it “stuck out” – I am made up with this!
I did wonder how this grip could be valued at a RRP of £10, but just for the fact it can hold all my hair in at once, I feel this is worth it. And, when my hair was clipped up with the grip, it felt secure and did not have to keep fixing hair that “escaped” from the arms of the grip.
The grip itself feels sturdy and robust and it stands out as a superior quality product and can hold a lot of hair!
You can also buy this size grip in brown, white and multi-coloured colour, and an extra-large grip in different colours is also available.
I would recommend the product to anyone who ties their hair back or wears it clipped up for a casual look. I would even tell them it is worth the £10 price tag. I personally would buy this grip again now that I have tried it.
The grip is made in China and it is good to see that 70% of the product it is made from (polymethyl methacrylate) is recycled material.
Lululemon was founded in Vancouver in 1998 and started operating from a yoga studio. They make “technical athletic clothes for yoga, running, working out, and most other sweaty pursuits” with an obvious lean towards yoga. Their clothing ranges are for men and women and are quite high-end in terms of pricing. They also sell sports activity accessories and gifts.
Lululemon, as a business, promote a holistic approach to equity, wellbeing and sustainability, creating a positive impact across social and environmental issues, for example, having a Vendor Code of Ethics, and, quite brilliantly, offer a free repair service for any of their clothes to ensure users get the most out of their investment in Lululemon purchases.
Rating: 5/5 – I love this for holding my thick hair together.
The recommended price for this Hair Grip is £10
