Chris Jarvis and Pui Fan Lee, much loved stars of the popular children’s channel Cbeebies, have gone our tour with their new show the Chris and Pui Roadshow and I was lucky to be asked to go along and review it for What’s Good To Do at The Lowry in Salford, Manchester.
We chose the 11am Sunday show and spent the whole time laughing, singing and dancing along to nursery rhymes and songs from their hit Cbeebies show Show Me Show Me.
The show took place in the stunningly decorated Quays Theatre and we were sat in row F seats 8, 9 & 10 which provided a spectacular view of the stage.
The show began on time and my daughter Kate age 8 shrieked with delight when the lights dimmed and Chris and Pui appeared on stage.
They opened the show with their Ten Worms Wiggling song which everyone in the theatre joined in singing and doing the actions.
The show is funny, musical and very well put together. The props are colourful and looked amazing!
Throughout the show we saw characters from Show Me Show Me including Teddington, Miss Mouse, Stuffy, Momobot and many more nursery rhyme characters including the Grand Old Duke Of York, Twinkle Twinkle, Humpty Dumpty and others.
Chris and Pui are complete naturals on the stage and their partnership is amazing to see live. The jokes throughout the show are hilarious and it was lovely to see such a brilliant children’s show.
Before we knew it the first half had ended and it was time for a quick drink and snack in the interval so I went up to the snack bar and purchased a few bits for myself, Kate and my husband and found the prices extremely reasonable.
Part 2 of the show was just as good as the first half and Chris and Pui really did make the audience feel included with their songs, dances and a special happy birthday song for any viewers whose birthday it was today. Pui asked each person their name and how old they were which I thought was lovely to do and the birthday children and adults certainly loved it.
If you can get tickets then see this show as it is truly amazing and really did tick every box for a fun family trip to the theatre.
