I was lucky enough to be selected to review this restaurant based in my home town of Shrewsbury. The restaurant is located in the centre of Shrewsbury overlooking the town square and is easy to get to by car, public transport or on foot.
Me and my friend arrived for our lunch time booking and were promptly greeted by friendly staff. As the restaurant was quiet we were asked where we would like to sit, so we chose a table near the window.
We were handed menus and shown the daily specials menu and ordered our drinks whilst we viewed the menus. There was plenty of choice, from lighter meals to more filling choices.
We decided to share a garlic bread with cheese for starters. This was a great choice and was very nice.
For mains I chose to have a margarita pizza and asked for prawns to be added, my friend opted for a grilled chicken panini with chips. The staff were very helpful and were able to accommodate the extra toppings I required and able to leave off the salsa from my friends order. The waitress explained that as everything is made fresh they can adapt the menus to suit your likes/requirements. This was a big bonus as we are both quite fussy eaters.
We both enjoyed out starters and mains, but purposely saved room for desserts.
My friend chose ice cream, and as she couldn’t decide between two of the flavours the waitress suggested she have a scoop of each. She chose chocolate and a hazelnut ice cream. The hazelnut one was delicious and glad my friend let me sample it too. I chose a lemon meringue dessert, but unfortunately the waitress returned to the table to inform me they didn’t have it in stock, plus they didn’t have profiterole rolls left. As I have a sweet tooth though I was able to choose another dessert that tempted me and I went for a cheesecake style dessert, this was lovely but very rich and filling and I struggled to finish it.
Overall, the experience was lovely. The staff were very helpful, the restaurant was clean and well set out and the price was very reasonable. For drinks and 3 courses we spent just £38 which for a town centre restaurant in a busy tourist town is a great price. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others.
