This fast paced book is set in Rome 61BC and follows young Marcus, a wannabe Gladiator in training at Julius Caesar’s palace. Marcus has the potential to go far and possesses good skills but before he can become one he must learn to fight street style.

On the streets Marcus soon realises it is nothing like his old training ground at the palace but a dark scary place where a wrong look can get you killed.

There soon is word of a plot to kill Caesar and Marcus is enlisted to help discover who is planning Caesar’s demise and stop them.

A fast paced book full of fighting and historical information.

Well worth a read. Suitable for children 8-12 years old.
