Infantino Foldable Playmat Review

My first impressions of the Infantino Foldable Playmat were really positive. I like that it is gender-neutral and reversible. I received the Woodland scene playmat to review. It features a cute little woodland scene with bears and raccoons on one side, then on the reverse side, a green checkered pattern. Being gender-neutral, you can purchase it as a gift before knowing the baby’s gender. The playmat arrived in its own see-through plastic storage bag, which is handy; not only does it help keep the playmat clean, it makes it easier to store and travel with. It also allowed me to see straight away what I was reviewing.
The playmat itself is quite large when laid out flat; it measures 57.8 inches square, so plenty of room to play. Once playtime is over, the playmat folds to 5.25 inches by 11.5 inches by 14.5 inches, (company’s own measurements) so it is easy to store; it fits behind our sofa and under the bed. As the mat folds up so easily and is lightweight, it is easy to pop in the car when visiting friends or family, or for a day at the park or beach. The playmat is spill-proof but not fully waterproof; for this reason, it is not recommended that you use it on wet surfaces. However, if you are using public transport or walking, the playmat would be slightly bulky; I am not sure that it would fit under most pushchairs.
The sides of the playmat fold up using Velcro straps; it is really easy to do; however, you do need to ensure that you secure them tightly. This should help with the stability of the sides. I do not think they would stop a baby from crawling out; however, they are useful to keep their toys within reach. For a small baby, the mat is perfect for tummy time; it has a non-slip surface, so it is great for learning to crawl. For older babies, it is a fun and safe place to play. With a wipeable cover, it is perfect for all those dribbles and spills. It is easy to wipe with a clean, with a damp cloth or wet wipe, which means your baby always has a safe and sterile place to play, no matter where you travel.
I really like this playmat. As I said before, it has a really cute woodland design and a checkered design on the reverse. Infantino has three designs available on Amazon: woodland, rainbow and multi-coloured; all three are really pretty. I like that they are all gender-neutral; it makes buying in advance a lot easier. The playmat is really easy to keep clean. No matter what type of floor you have, the mat gives your baby a nice, soft, non – slip, sterile area to play. I think that it would make a really nice baby shower or new baby gift. The only downside for me is that, even though it is lightweight, it is a bit bulky to carry along with a pushchair.

I think for the price, the playmat is reasonable. I would happily purchase it as a christening, baby shower or new baby gift. It is a great size, easy to clean, easy to store and easy to travel with in a car.
I would give the Infantino playmat 4 out of 5.
