No sooner is Christmas over, thoughts turn to Easter as all the chocolate eggs and gifts arrive in the stores. After a few lovely sunny days which had me thinking that spring was around the corner, I was delighted to receive a selection of Easter products from the Lindt Easter range to review.
Lindt is a well-established and recognised company that is renowned for producing delicious chocolate treats. From the opening of their first confectionery shop by David Sprungli and his son in Zurich in 1845, this company has gone from strength to strength to become the brand which everyone knows and loves today.
Lindor – which is used in conjunction with the Lindt name on many of their products – was first used for their delicious round truffles which are so popular today. The original truffles were produced as a Christmas line which was introduced in 1969. Wrapped in a shiny, red covering, these lovely baubles of chocolate shells surrounding a smooth, melting truffle centre were so popular that they became one of their main confectionery items and have remained in demand throughout the year. They are now available in a great variety of chocolate types with numerous, truffle fillings.
The Easter bundle I received arrived well packaged with all the delicate products protected and undamaged. The box contained three large Easter eggs and a delightful Gold Bunny.
The iconic Gold Bunnies are now available in a variety of chocolate types – white, dark, milk, hazelnut and a new Strawberry White one which is the Bunny I received. Each bunny type has a different colour hallmark neck ribbon with a small bell attached. Mine had a lovely pink ribbon symbolising the white chocolate with strawberry brand. The gold wrapping was so lovely it seemed a shame to open it but I was glad I did when I tasted the gorgeous, smooth strawberry infused white chocolate. With crunchy freeze dried strawberries it tasted like a strawberry milk shake!!
Also within my bundle was a Gold Bunny Easter egg – a white chocolate egg with an accompanying white strawberry Bunny. This range of Gold Bunny egg – enclosed in a lovely spring themed box – would make a great Easter gift for all ages. Who doesn’t love an Easter Bunny!!
Another new line within the bundle was a Blood Orange truffle egg – a lovely thick milk chocolate egg with eight accompanying truffles flavoured with orange. This is another lovely truffle flavour from the Lindor range.
The final egg was a classic Lindor milk chocolate egg with the original chocolate truffles enclosed within impressive red and gold packaging. The egg is made of extremely good quality chocolate and with eight delicious milk chocolate truffles, this is sure to be a favourite at Easter time.
The eggs I was fortunate enough to to sample and review are only a small example of the vast products available created by Lindt master Chocolatiers across the world.
Whatever the occasion – Mother’s Day, birthdays or anniversaries, these special, chocolates would be a welcome gift for your family or friends – or why not treat yourself!!
