Ledlenser Kidcamp 6 Lantern Review

I have loved camping and caravanning since I was a child.  I have recently got back into caravanning after a break of many years and I have been on the look out for items to equip the caravan including items for my children.   I was therefore delighted to have the opportunity of reviewing the Kidcamp 6 lantern.  The item arrived promptly in perfect condition.  What struck me was how appealing the box looked for a child.  It had dinosaurs on.  My twin sons love dinosaurs.   As a busy mum I was glad to see that the required 3 x AAA alkaline batteries were included with the product. This saved me time and money.  I noticed that the box said ‘To be used under the direct supervision of an adult’. 

I couldn’t wait to try out the item myself.  It has the following settings:

White

Blue

Green

Red

Party blink mode

With the party blink mode, the light flashes from one colour to another.  This mode is great fun and is the one which my sons seem to like best.   I have found this lantern really handy as I could hang the light (using its integral hook) from one of the cupboard handles above where my sons sleep in the caravan and leave the lantern on to help my sons get to sleep.  The fold-out hook can be folded away when not in use.   The lantern has a touch sensor to switch it on and off.  To move between the various colours/modes of operation you simply keep pressing the touch sensor.  When you first switch on the lantern the colour is white.  You do have to press the light several times when in some modes to switch it off.   There is also an automatic shutdown function.  We have used this lantern so much when staying in the caravan and the batteries are still going strong.

This light has been used regularly by myself and my sons.  I actually put it on the party blink mode last week during a stormy night at the caravan and I found it to be a helpful distraction from the thunder and lightning.

I am so impressed with the look, functionality and quality of this product.  I think that the RRP of £19.95 represents really good value for money.  I would recommend this product as well as Ledlenser on the whole to others. My twin sons absolutely love this product.   I can see it lasting a long time and it has stood up really well to use by my lively sons.
