Popcorn Shed Review

There’s something very nostalgic about popcorn. I loved it when I was a child; that was when we used to pop the kernels ourselves in a big saucepan on the stove, and I still remember seeing the popped corn lift the lid off the pan. Now, a trip to the cinema is not complete without a big tub of popcorn, and that smell of popcorn in the cinema foyer is so delicious.

The popcorn I’ve been asked to review from Popcorn Shed is on a different level. Each piece of popped corn is light and fluffy, with the perfect amount of crunchy, buttery coating, and much larger pieces than I’ve had from any other popcorn, with hardly any little scrappy bits in the bottom of the pack. I can understand why it’s called “gourmet popcorn”. Yes, my granddaughter would love it, but I see this one as being for the adults. I would happily serve this to friends if they called round for drinks. There’s a good 80-gram serving in each pack, and I was planning on sharing it with other family members, but before I knew it, I had eaten it all myself and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have tried three varieties: salted caramel, butterscotch, and berry-licious. The salted caramel and butterscotch are quite similar; salted caramel is soft and buttery, while butterscotch has a richer, more intense toffee flavour and is also suitable for vegans. Berry-licious is very different; it’s a blend of caramel, raspberry, and dark chocolate. To be honest, I’m not a fan of dark chocolate, so I didn’t think I would like this one. That’s why I tried it last, but it was so yummy. I could taste each individual flavour, but they all worked in harmony, with no one flavour overpowering the others.

All three are made with natural ingredients, are gluten-free, and have the highly respected “Great Taste” award.

There are many occasions I can think of when these would make a unique gift. They have lots of wonderful flavours on their website. I even saw a “birthday cake” one, which was vanilla caramel, white chocolate, and sprinkles, and looked very cute. I’m going to sign up to their emails as a reminder next time I need a little gift for someone.

Founded by cousins Sam and Laura, the company has been family-owned since 2016.

I might sound crazy, but I could tell there was a lot of love put into these products. It’s in the perfectly blended flavours, the beautiful shed-shaped packaging, the original flavours, and the funky recipes using popcorn on their website.

Each 80-gram Popcorn Shed pack is priced at £4.75 and available from these links:
