I was really excited when I found out I had been picked to review the blank canvas makeup brushes.  I was a consultant for a well-known cosmetics company way back in 2005 and I love wearing makeup – although as a busy full time mum I don’t get to wear it as often as I’d like to.

I was sent 5 brushes (F20, F21, E26, E27 and E30) – they came individually wrapped and came with a lovely black wallet to kept them in and a leaflet which has a “how to care for your brushes” (although I have to admit I’ve not “cared for” my current brushes although if I’m honest I don’t remember them coming with any information) section which also shows you the other brushes available in the range. When I un-wrapped the brushes my first instinct was to feel them and rub them across my face – they were sooo lovely and soft and they just glided across my skin. I am quite cautious about using new make-up brushes as I have very sensitive skin (especially around my eyes) and can sometimes end up with red irritated patches or itchy eyes so I tried them on my face the day before I was going out just in case I had a reaction to them.

I used 4 of the 5 brushes the night I was going out, the first one that I used was E26 “flat shader/lay down brush”, I used this to add a base colour to my whole eye socket and lid and then I used E27 “cute mini detailer brush” to apply my darker eye shadow to the socket of my eye – both brushes were really lovely and soft. I used E27 again to blend in my makeup (I have since realised after going through the leaflet again that there is a separate blending brush available too). I also noticed that I didn’t have any flecks of excess eye shadow underneath my eyes like I usually do which was fab as I didn’t have to mess around trying to wipe it away. I applied my eye makeup exactly the same way as I usually do with my good old long standing trusty brushes but my eyes looked much nicer than usual.

I used the F21 “HD angled contour” brush to apply my blusher and this was just as lovely as the other two brushes and gave a lovely even look. I also used the E30 “double ended brow/spoolie” – I never usually bother with my eye brows too much as they are quite thin but I gave them a quick brush and they looked neater than usual.

I didn’t use the F20 “HD flat buffer” brush as I wear liquid foundation but after looking online at www.blankcanvascosmetics.com I have realised that I could have used it to apply my foundation and that people swear by this brush so I can’t wait to give it a go with my foundation.

The brushes are a really good quality and I think that they are reasonably priced, if they were cared for properly as per the instruction sheet I can imagine then lasting quite a long time.

I have also had a nosey through the website and noticed that as well as brushes they also sell makeup. I had told my hubby not to bother buying me anything for Christmas but after seeing the Nude Pallette of 88 eye shadows I think I might be changing my mind. Oh I’m in makeup heaven now!

The 5 brushes are supplied in a soft case perfect to keep in your handbag or for travelling and would make a perfect Cristmas gift for some one.

I think you might have just found yourself a new fan.
