Trouble at the Little Village School by Gervase Phinn Review

I was recently asked to read and review Trouble at the Little Village School, written by Gervase Phinn, by What’s Good To Do and I eagerly awaited it’s arrival by post.
I was sent a proof copy and never before have I read a 351 page book so quickly. I found the story way to get into and the plot riveting.
The book is set in a little place called Barton-in-the-Dale and its main character is Elisabeth Devine who is the head teacher of the local school.
Rumours about Elisabeth and men of the village soon start to fly but she soon wins the trust of the parents, pupils and staff and begins to make changes to the school and how it’s run.
Before Elisabeth can get too comfortable though it’s announced that the school and another are to merge into one bigger and better school.
Elisabeth soon finds her role as head under fire and she has to compete against the nasty and no nonsense other head from the merger school.
Elisabeth must use all her head teacher experience and knowledge to gain control but with some locals still unsure about her will Elisabeth find herself cast aside and out of the job she loves?
A worthy read which won’t disappoint.
