I was very excited to be given the opportunity to review the LUNA generation 2 ring. I was very happy with the service from the start of my order. I was sent a ring sizing kit holding the different sizes available to order. This allowed me to try on multiples sizes in my own home, wearing them for extended periods of time to ensure I ordered the best fit. Once I had chosen the best fit the delivery was very quick, within the week.

The parcel was securely packed, with everything in a small cardboard box. The ring comes with a beautiful surge charger -charging case, that holds charge for 21 hours, a charging cable and the Luna ring Gen 2.0.

I received a rose gold shiny ring, however they have a range of metals and finishes to choose from, including Matte finishes.

The suggestion is to wear the ring on your index finger on your least dominant hand to give better readings and reducing the risks of damage to the ring. Due to a hand injury I couldn’t wear the ring on my left hand so wear it comfortably on my right hand. I initially started wearing the ring on my index finger but my personal preference it feels more comfortable on my middle finger, I haven’t seen a huge difference in the data from swapping fingers so I would go with what feels more comfortable. I would suggest trying the sizing rings for a while on different fingers, carrying out usual daily tasks prior to confirming the size as this ensures that you have the most comfortable fit if wearing all the time.
The ring is light for the smart tech that’s included in it and although bulkier than the usual jewellery I would wear on my fingers its surprising how quick I became used to it.

A huge selling point of the Luna Ring is that there are no charges for premium uses, you are directed to download the free app to your phone or device in a small leaflet included in the packaging. This was a really quick process and the app is suitable for both android and iPhone. I found the app really simple to navigate and you are able to personalise to what you want to see on your homepage and the targets you want to focus on. This hands down beats other smart devices that require premium subscriptions to monitor your heart rate, oxygen levels and sleep patterns. Whereas the Luna ring monitors all of these and more as part of the standard package. I also love the AI addition, Life OS this gives you insights taken from the data captured from your Luna ring and enables you to understand the patterns shown in your sleep, HRV, recovery periods etc and you can then ask for guidance on these if you want to. You can also ask questions via voice control or typing in the app.

The Luna ring needs time to collect data before it can guide you on patterns of health or fitness, typically requiring 7 days of data before it can establish a health trend and then can continue gathering the data as long as the ring is worn. With women’s health you can track ovulation and periods, but this requires you to input previous periods to enable predictions for ovulation etc. this is great if you are wanting to keep a track of ovulation windows or be prepared if unsure of cycles. It also allows you to input feelings/moods and symptoms within your cycle giving you further insight into your own health and wellbeing.

An interesting feature I hadn’t seen before is the Circadian alignment which tracks your rhythm throughout a 24hr period, this shows your readiness and guides you to the best times for rest, caffeine intake, activity etc. You can then use it to align your routines to be the most positive to your health and readiness scores.

The Luna ring is waterproof up to 50m, I haven’t tested this feature but it has caused no issues getting wet washing hands or in the shower, alternatively I have used this time to put it on the charger box. Charging is very quick and lasts for up to a week. You do get notifications telling you the battery is low.

The notifications again can be personalised for frequency and the tracking aspects you want to focus on.
I would say for those wanting a health and fitness tracker the Luna Ring Gen 2 is a great choice if you want a less obvious tracker. It can pass as jewellery and be functional at the same time. You do need to ensure you enable Bluetooth for syncing and ensure you have good internet connection as this can cause some issues with syncing if you have poor connection, however this does update as soon as the signal is strong again.

It’s also nice to not have the notifications constantly flashing up on your wrist as I’m used to wearing a smartwatch and it can be distracting when wearing. However the Luna ring allows you to track your health and wellbeing but remain present, you can check your health data in the app but not be drawn to checking constantly.

I’m definitely a convert, after owning a smartwatch for many years I like the design of the ring and the simplicity of the app, it’s nice to be able to still track my movements but without the need for a watch.

I would rate 5/5 – A beautiful ring that offers a real insight into your health and wellbeing.
