I was excited to try the UGreen magnetic wireless fast charging power bank, as we have been thinking about getting something like this for a long time for our caravan holidays, where we do not always have electricity to charge our phones. I particularly liked the look of this model as it is quite compact and light, and seemed very easy to use.

When the charger arrived, it was in a compact box with easy set up instructions. I unclipped the charging cable which was neatly fitted into the side keeping it safe, and which doubles up as a way of carrying the power bank around. I started by fully charging the product as suggested. This actually took a little longer than I thought it would – about 2 hours in total, but I am hoping this will now last for a long time before needing recharging. My phone started charging as soon as I placed it on top of the charger, but I was a little disappointed with the strength of the magnet. It stays in place if left alone, but you can’t walk around with it and use it at the same time as it’s charging, as it then slides off.
.
The charging speed for my phone was not great when I used the wireless facility, taking several hours to reach full charge. However, there is also the option to use a wired charging method which was much faster taking under an hour, so I will definitely be using this option in the future. This makes it sufficiently fast that I can top up my phone during a short car journey or quickly before we leave the caravan,
allowing other users time to charge theirs as well. This is ideal for camping and caravanning, and using the lead will allow us to charge tablets while away too. The size and weight is perfect for us, being slim enough that I can keep it attached while using my phone normally without feeling like I’m holding a brick. It also looks very sleek and has a matte finish, which does not pick up fingerprints. However it does get a little warm while in use.

One thing I did not expect to appreciate as much as I do is the little LED battery indicator. It is clear and simple, so I can tell when it needs charging again and not be caught out! My biggest concern will be whether this power bank will last for a 2 weeks off-grid trip or whether I will need to recharge it somewhere along the way, but time will tell!

Overall, the UGreen magnetic wireless power bank does exactly what I need it to do, and I think it will end up being one of the most useful purchases I have made in a long time. It seems reliable, thoughtfully designed, and convenient for when I either have no electricity available or even to use in everyday life when I’m rushing around. The only thing I think could be improved is the magnet strength and wireless signal so it can be used on the go more easily. If you rely on your phone and want something that simply works without a lot of fuss though, I think this is definitely worth it for the price.
