I have always loved Tomy products and this John Deere Tractor is no exception.
I was asked to review a Big Farm Tractor and expected a small tractor but received a large box with a tractor that is 1:16 scale. It measures approx. 12” (30cm) long by 8.5” (21cm) high x 8” (20cm) wide.
The tractor is a great replica and comes with opening hood and cab and removable front weights. To make it more authentic it even has lights and sounds. There are 2 buttons on top of the cab: the first one I tried gave a reversing beep sound and the lights on the front of the cab start to flash, the second button when pressed again having the flashing lights above the cab but has an engine turning over sound.
Now that I had finished playing, I mean examining, I gave it to my 4 year old son – he loves it. Because of its size he finds it very easy to drive (push along) and very soon wanted to take it out in the garden. As it was a nice day I allowed him into the garden and he happily sat outside getting fresh air playing with his new tractor.
Overall, we found this to be an excellent toy. My son plays with it every day and it is still in one piece. The first thing he does when he gets it out is to start it up (he loves the sounds it makes). It is good quality and for the hours of playtime my son has had from it already is definitely value for money.
This would make an excellent Christmas present for any little boy. Highly recommended.
