We had a rib tickling fantastic evening at Tom Stade’s tour in Salford’s Lowry theatre last night!
The Lowry theatre is easy to get too with plenty of parking in the adjacent Lowry outlet mall. Parking in this car park cost us £4.50 for the length of the show and with it being so close saved us getting wet , just a minute walk.
The Lowry theatre is great, clean and modern outlay with friendly staff. The show was in the Quays Theatre which is a bit of a walk from the entrance. The bar is just outside the entrance to the theatre and whilst service was quite slow, staff are polite. Two soft drinks cost £4.
Our seats were in the stalls, 7 rows from the front. Seats were a little cramped (we are quite tall) but with a great view of the stage.
The show started at 8pm with Gareth, a Scottish up and coming comedian warming up the audience with his wit and ginger humour.
Whilst we enjoyed watching him and he had us chuckling to ourselves, there was a late of fluidness in his performance, I’m sure this with grow with experience!
As he left the stage the lights came up, we were wondering really if it was an interval or not as no announcement had been made so stayed seated for things to start again.
At 9pm the main show started, with Tom Stade’s loud personality taking over the stage – he certainly has a stage presence. Whilst there was plenty of swearing in the show, he really had just laughing throughout the show. My partner laughed so much, he said his eyes were hurting when we came out!
Tom engaged with the audience throughout the show and at times we were really glad that we were no closer to the stage! The show was relevant to Salford, he had really done his homework to ensure he offended causing an outcry of rib tickling laughs from the audience. He makes every day things seem so funny – who would have thought we would be laughing about cash in the attic and shopping on a Friday night.
This is the first time we have seen Tom Stade and absolutely loved his show – we will definitely be going to see him next time he is in Manchester. His humour encompassed everyday life and we can all relate to the issues he was talking about.
If there is one comedian you are going to see this year make it Tom and I guarantee you will come out laughing all the way home!
