Pulling into the Beefeater well lit restaurant car park it all looked very inviting, I had booked a table for 7.30pm for 4 people.
After being shown to the table and seated our waitress gave us the menus. We choose our starters which were as follows:
Crispy Garlic & Herb Breaded Mushrooms £3.99
Button mushrooms coated in garlic & herb breadcrumbs, deep fried and served with smoky BBQ sauce and garlic mayo dip on the side.
Smoked Paprika Chicken Skewers £4.79
Chicken breast marinated in paprika, threaded onto skewers with red onion and pepper and chargrilled. Topped with rocket and drizzled with herby Chimichurri sauce.
The starters were hot and tasty, we then followed with our mains:
Chicken Breast and Bourbon & Black Ribs§ £12.89
Chargrilled chicken breast and sticky Bourbon & Black ribs, served with chips, salad and battered onion rings.
Smothered Chicken £10.89
A true classic….. Chargrilled chicken breast topped with bacon and melted Cheddar & Mozzarella cheese, served with chips, salad, coleslaw and BBQ sauce
And two of us had
Grilled Salmon** Béarnaise§ £11.89
A freshly chargrilled salmon fillet, with buttered potatoes, broccoli, and cherry tomatoes. Served with Béarnaise sauce
We had a choice of potatoes which made the meal all the tastier the meal was delicious and freshly cooked. There was plenty to eat and choice on the menu.
We finally decided on deserts
Bread & Butter Pudding £4.79
Made with Madeira loaves and served warm with custard on the side
Banoffee Pie £4.89
Crunchy biscuit base topped with toffee and finished with slices of fresh banana and drizzled with luscious warm toffee sauce
Lemon Meringue Sundae £3.99
Layers of vanilla ice cream, crunchy meringue and tangy lemon sauce topped with a whip of cream and a wafer
And finally coffee.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, the food was great value for money, the soundings was well furnished and great for large parties or like us an alcove all adding to the whole evening. I would recommend the Morris Dancers for an enjoyable meal with plenty of choice.
The only downfall was as a disabled person going to the bathroom there was a table in the way which made it difficult to access the bathroom. This would be solved by removing this table.
Rating: 4/5
