Tree Fu Tom Twigs And The Wishing Pebble Review

Reveiwed by Nicola Mccallum

With three children who are avid fans of the Cbeebies show ‘Tree Fu Tom’ I was delighted to be selected to review this book. From the moment we initially picked up this book we have been unable to put it down.

With a glossy front cover with the main characters Tom and Twigs on the front it is instantly obvious of the link to the hit television show. From the moment you open the book you are hit by the key moments that make Tree Fu Tom so popular, and as soon as I read the first few words my three excitable boys jumped off the sofa to follow the actions I was reading in order to ‘turn the magic on’.

As we read this tale together we enjoyed the colourful illustrations following Tom and Twigs on their latest adventure and just like in the television show, some ‘Big world magic’ was needed to save the day. Cue once again three little boys awaiting for my instructions and when they were unsure of the move described I had them by my side to look at the picture so they could do it right and help Tom save the day.

The thing that set this book apart from other books is the interactive actions of copying the main characters. It is very true to the Cbeebies show and was thoroughly enjoyed by my twin 3 year old and my 5 year old boys. With other titles available I will certainly be   purchasing more of these books for my children and as presents for their friends and priced at £4.99 this book is definitely good value for money.

Overall I rate this book 5 out of 5 with my five year old rating it 100 out of 5.

Rating: 5/5
