I recently visited Jimmy’s World Grill & Bar in Luton on a Sunday afternoon with my partner and two children aged 8 and 9. Upon arriving at the restaurant we were taken to our table that had been reserved in advance and seated with the drinks menu. It was an extensive drinks menu of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks that would appeal to all who wished to have a drink with their meal. The menu also contained cocktails, spirits and an array of soft drinks. Once the drinks order was taken by a very helpful team member we were invited to help ourselves to the buffet.
On a Sunday Jimmy’s World (Luton and Epsom branches only) offer a traditional family roast as well as their usual continental cuisine. There was a joint of beef and a whole chicken as well as a freshly cooked salmon on a bed of seasoned mange tout and butternut squash. There was a server ready to carve the meat or fish and a selection of condiments to accompany the meat such as onion gravy, fish sauce and whole grain mustard. On the buffet were garden peas, chantenay carrots, brussel sprouts, creamy mashed potatoes and Yorkshire puddings too. The food was delicious. I think this is a fabulous idea to serve a Sunday roast as well as their usual Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Indian and English dishes.
There is so much choice to choose from and fajitas and noodle dishes are made according to your specification right in front of your eyes at the live cooking food stations. It’s all buffet style so you can help yourself as many times as you like to the Sunday roast and all the other continental dishes and if you have room after all that delicious food there is a huge selection of desserts too! There was tiramisu, mixed berry cheesecake, fresh cut fruits of fruit including pineapple, grapes, watermelon and apple. There is also an ice cream station and a chocolate fountain, strawberry flavoured moose and jelly! The children were delighted by the dessert selection.
Jimmy’s World caters for all tastes and understands the needs of family dining, singles and couples. It also serves a large selection of vegetarian dishes too! Whether it’s a meal with friends or a meal with family or work colleagues at lunchtime or evening this place has everything covered to cater for everyone’s tastes including fussy eaters. There was a good presence of staff so we was able to order drinks effortlessly and used plates were taken away quickly to allow diners to approach the buffet again to have another selection of foods or dessert.
I noticed the food on the buffet was replenished frequently and it was always hot and freshly cooked. I just can’t fault our experience. The whole concept of Jimmy’s World and the way you dine is so appealing to all ages and definitely a big thumbs up from our family.
A great service, great food and great atmosphere! Bringing the traditional Sunday roast to Jimmy’s is sure to be a hit.
