The Mineral Foundation comes in a lovely little compact, with 'Extra Virgin Minerals' on the front with The Body Shop logo on; it looks eye-catching against the dark background. It has a little window on the front of the compact which gives you a sneak peak of the colour. The Compact looks and feels quality on first impressions. And it easily fits into a small makeup bag.
I love Body Shop products so I knew this would be a winner for me. The compact has a convenient little mirror on the inside of the lid, and the foundation layer lifts up to reveal a foundation brush to apply the makeup with. This is a great quality brush, feels really soft, cruelty free, and applies the foundation evenly and easily.
The foundation automatically feels lovely on the skin, goes on as a cream and sets as light as powder, it feels weightless. With the name 'Extra Virgin Minerals' it gives you a feel that this is a natural, raw foundation, which is 'fragrance and paraben free', containing cold pressed extra virgin olive oil.
On the back of the compact it states SPF 15, which is always appealing as people are very aware of protecting the skin from the sun’s rays.
The foundation gives a lovely matt finish; you can have a light or heavy coverage depending on how you wear your foundation. I have combination skin, and was unsure how it would last as usually my foundation has to be reapplied after a few hours. But I was really surprised, it lasted really well throughout the day, and I didn't get dry or oily patches, and no irritated skin!
I've had many positive comments on my skin whilst wearing this foundation, which made it even better. I don't usually have people commenting on my makeup, so that’s a good sign.
I will definitely continue to use this foundation, I like how it suits me and how good it feels on my skin. I think it’s good value for money as that little compact goes a long way and lasts ages.
