Wireless is definitely the way of the future, it’s convenient and easy. Wires get in the way and restrict you. I use earbuds up to 10 times a week. I love listening to a good audiobook and podcasts when I’m out and about and they are top of my packing list when I go away to enable me to chill out with my favourite tunes. I have owned wireless earbuds before (of a much cheaper pricing bracket) and in all honesty thought they were fine. So when I had the chance to review the House of Marley Earbuds which admittedly are of a much higher price bracket; I thought it would be a great opportunity to compare and contrast the quality and see if you really do get what you pay for.

The earbuds were neatly packaged in a box that told me exactly what to expect from them. These Redemption ANC 2 are Bluetooth, promise 24 hours of playtime with the case, they are water and sweat resistant, active noise cancellation and with the option of wireless charging. It all looked very promising, but there was nothing that convinced me just yet. Upon opening the box, I found a wire for charging, different sized earbud covers, a quick start guide (which I would definitely be needing) and of course a case containing the earbuds. The case itself is really quite attractive and compact with bamboo detail on its lid, it opens so smoothly and clicks shut with a soft magnetic fastening that gives you that impression of quality. The earbuds themselves were nestled upright in the case and again slip in and out easily. They bear the same bamboo details on the back of them which definitely make them look quite unique compared to other earbuds I’ve seen.

I followed the guide for initial set up, there was plenty of charge in them to get started so there was no hold up in testing them. The pairing was really simple and straight forward. A flashing light on the buds shows you that they are in pairing mode when removed from the case and my phone found them immediately. I also downloaded the House of Marley app from the app store on my phone. This gave me even more control and insight into how my earbuds were performing.

Each ear bud has a sensor on the back which is used to control the volume, skip tracks, answer calls etc. This can also be customised through the app, which will also tell you how much power each earbud has and also a question and answer section to help you understand the earbuds further. In addition, the sounds levels can be adjusted through the equalizer settings to suit your own preferences.

The listening time is impressive. The case can be charged (with or without a wire) and in turn charges the earbuds whenever they are placed back into the case. This means that in total you get a listening time of 24 hours (6 with the earbuds alone). The app will let you know when the earbuds need recharging but also there is a light indicator for the case battery to show when the power there is running low. So you will never get caught out.

When I put the earbuds in my ears, I was really impressed with how well they fit. The earbuds were light and didn’t feel bulky at all. The sound quality was definitely an improvement on other earbuds that I have tried and the noise cancellation worked really well. Even on phone calls, people I spoke to said that the sound was really clear. I have to say there is a marked difference in performance from other earbuds I have tried. I absolutely love the feel of quality that they have and the superiority of the sound experience. This is a quality product (have I mentioned the word quality enough….)

Rating:  I give them a 5/5. They are well worth the investment if you are someone who has use for personal earphones regularly when out and about then why not give yourself the best experience possible.

RRP and Buy Link: The earbuds retail for £149.99 and can be purchased at https://www.thehouseofmarley.co.uk/redemption-anc-2-true-wireless-earbuds/ they would make a perfect gift for any tech lovers and with Christmas coming up would be an ideal present.
