Katherine Ryan Glitter Room at The Lowry Manchester Review

I am a huge fan of Katherine Ryan, ever since seeing her for the first time on 8 out of 10 cats a few years ago. I have followed her rise to fame on Mock the Week, Your Face or Mine and her own show How Did You Get So RIch? I love her honest attitude and that she says what we are basically all thinking.
The show was supported by not one, but two warm up acts, both were very good, with the second, Lauren Patterson, getting the crowd really going with her witty performance, ready for the main act Ryan.
With the main theme being Katherine’s new single life, after her ex got up and left her to move to Japan, he broke off their long distant relationship after she didn’t give up her job and life to follow him! Katherine refers to men as dolphins – best enjoyed on holiday, not something you would bring in the house. This left the audience in hysterics.
I love how Ryan refers to her daughter, her English accent is brilliant, and the impression of her daughter is really captivating. The way she describes their relationship and the little conversations left me wanting more. I especially liked the story of the two of them stalking Trolls star, Anna Kendrick in London, to only bump into her in America a couple of weeks later, after trying to hide from her the whole day.
Katherine’s interactions with the audience were second to none. She had the packed out 4000 seat audience wrapped around her every word, making them feel like she was talking directly to them.
The show lasts around 2 hours in total, 30 minutes warm up act, 20 minutes interval and just over an hour main act.
The whole show was a success, Katherine is hilarious, and my husband and I had an excellent evening. I cannot wait until she returns to Manchester so we can see her again.
