Orchard Toys Pizza, Pizza! Review

When this game arrived in its brightly coloured box, my twins could not wait to open it and get started. There were many excited exclamations of “Pizza!”  Myself and the 3 kids sat on the floor and set out all the game pieces. I found the instructions easy to understand. As with other Orchard Toys items, the game is robust and will stand up to my 3 year old twins regularly playing it.

You play the game by spinning both spinners and then choosing a pizza slice of that shape or colour. If there is space on your pizza board for that colour or shape, you pop it on, except when the pizza slice contains something yucky. In this case it has to be popped in the bin. There is a special bin as part of the game. You even get the opportunity to take a piece from another player if your spinner lands on the take a piece part of the spinner board.

My twins love this game and have asked to play it every day since we received it. The educational guide is very useful and tells me which areas of my boy’s development the game will help with. In this case: developing colour and shape recognition, encouraging decision making and planning, teaching game play and turn taking and promoting discussion about food preferences.

We had a few giggles about some of the yucky topping choices. This game was fun for all of us and we love playing it.
