We were excited to see Justin on stage as we are huge fans, my eldest grew up with him and now my five year old loves watching his shows.
The BAFTA award winner of beloved CBeebies shows including the ever popular Something Special, Gigglebiz and Giggle quiz.
Well, now the CBeebies megastar is heading back on tour and today we saw him at the Lighthouse Poole. This is his first live theatre tour in the UK since 2022.
When we arrived at the Lighthouse we headed straight to the merchandise table before finding our seats in the theatre. Unfortunately we had a delayed start to the show due a technical issue but once we were able to take our seats, the stage was vibrant in colour, set up with air guitars and strobe lighting. Today we were in the concert hall in the stalls and had great views from our seats.
The show is written and performed by Justin Fletcher himself and is a must see for youngsters and their families. Produced by the award-winning Imagine Theatre (part of the Trafalgar Group), they promise that this show is high energy and offers a family friendly experience for all.
Justin states “I’m so excited to be going out on tour this year in our brand new show Justin Time to Rock”. He says he really enjoys travelling around the country, performing and meeting so many new friends.
The show started off with Justin coming on and introducing himself and his band members Cha Cha, Stixs, Bubbles and Sunny. This was followed by a song where Justin popped a confetti canon into the audience as well as flame projectors shooting into the air.
We then went back in time to when they auditioned for the Rock Band and learnt some new songs and how they found their name for the band. The band members were fantastic and had so much energy throughout the show dancing and singing along to all the songs. There was lots of audience participation with us being taught the moves and encouraging us to join in dancing and clapping along. All the songs were catchy and had some simple hand actions and signs to copy and follow along.
We also did some classic songs such as Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes and the Hokey Cokey which had everyone up on their feet. We also sang some songs from his CBeebies show ‘Something Special’ and we all signed along together.
The visual effects and colours on the stage remained throughout the performance and were very captivating for the children. The audience was a mix of ages with lots of children with SEN needs so having all the interaction and visual effects was a real hit with them.
This show is recommended for ages 3 and up. This was a one date show for this location but you can have a look here and see what other shows are coming up www.lighthousepoole.co.uk or by calling the booking office on 01202 280000. Have a look and see what’s on as there is plenty coming up over the next few months. Justin Time to Rock is touring around the country, I would highly recommend seeing if a show is coming to a town near you.
