I received my Stokke Tripp Trapp Chair in Storm Grey very quickly. I was immediately impressed by it. Even in the box it looked to be of the high quality. And this great first impression was confirmed further as I began to build it. With only a few main parts and some simple tightening of bolts it was extremely easy to put together and was up in no time. I would however recommend that you do not tighten one side properly until it’s completed as I did find myself having to untighten and tighten the bolts a few times to get the final pieces to fit in. But that was down to me being a bit of a novice at DIY as opposed to bad design and the fact that it all fits together perfectly.
The chair comes in a variety of beautiful woods and colours ranging from classic to more on trend colours. There really is a colour for everyone. I went for grey to match my dining table and I couldn’t be more pleased. It looks great. This classic Scandinavian design in whatever colour you choose will look fantastic in any setting, I’m sure. And with its ergonomic design, depth and height adjustable seat and footplate it makes the perfect seat for a child or adult of any age or size.
However, it has been my two year old son who has been using it over the last few days and he is loving being in his big boy seat. I have it on the first runner as he is so small, but he can climb up himself using the foot plate and gets right into the table at the perfect height. Previously we had a booster seat with a tray but have recently removed the tray so he could use the table, but he was still quite low down. This seat is perfect for him.
The chair is widely sold, and price varies a little but buying direct from Stokke the price ranges from £209 to £245 with delivery costs at £12.90 (free above £139). So, it is a bit pricey for a child’s high chair but it is a real piece of good quality furniture that as the brand quotes will grow with your child. As well as doubles up as a normal dining chair for adults. However, I would warn that given the high chair design it probably takes up more space than an average dining chair. So, you could argue it is worth the investment. There are also some other complimentary perks such as a 7 year warranty and personalised engraving.

You can also purchase a variety of accessories separately from cushions to baby bundles. All look great and again of high quality. You can really make this chair work for your circumstances and surroundings. It looks and feels expensive, it is a classic design that will not date and you can have it for years. So, although it comes with quite a high price ticket I would recommend that if you can spare the little extra it is worth it.
