Stokke Limas Carrier Review

Having had three other children, when our son was very recently born both my partner and I discussed that it was an absolute necessity to have a decent baby carrier for us to be able to remain independent and hands free when either one of us were home alone with our new baby. Baby carriers are also a good option when you just want to go out and about without the hassle of putting the big, bulky pushchairs up and down. What we also soon realised, having a colicky baby, is that they are an absolute must for that upright positioning and close contact to promote bonding with parents and baby.

Stokke has clearly gone above and beyond when it comes to their design skills with the Limas Carrier. The carrier is a three in one which means that not only can you use this buckle carrier from newborn (7lbs and up), which is rare for most buckle carriers believe me! But you can also allow baby to be world facing or carried on your back once they are a little older and more robust. This means that baby and child will be able to watch the world go by on a stroll and not just appreciate a cuddle to parents’ chests as a teeny tot, like ours is currently! The carrier also states that it will suit a child up to the age of 36 months (3 years) which is a far cry from the usual 2 years.

The carrier is easy to use by yourself and once you get your head around the instructions, which look like typical **** (editor’s note – brand name removed) instructions (meaning you need a physics degree to understand them hehe!) you’re away! I even managed to put the carrier on and baby inside by myself, with no assistance and one handed- talk about skills! Every aspect of the carrier’s ergonomic design oozes class, even the delivery box was pretty and attractive, and as a fan of Stokke anyway for their strollers, I just knew that this carrier would be of a high quality. Each part of the product is adjustable meaning that it grows with baby, and it looks nice and roomy. As a person of larger size, I was nervous about this product fitting me, however I can say that it fit me and some, meaning that it was not a tight fit and there is plenty of room for growth for both me and our baby. I am also a stickler for a pretty pattern, and there were plenty of choices when it came to picking- meaning I could pick a nice gender neutral pattern to go with any outfit choice. The material also feels soft and smooth meaning there was no irritation to both mine and my babies sensitive skin, and it felt nice and airy in the current summery climate. Unlike some carriers it does not dig into any part of your body, and therefore it is comfortable to wear. I would recommend this product to friends who have small children and I know that our family will get great use out of it as our baby grows.
