Something Special Activity Toy Review
Something Special
Activity Toy
I recently received a Mr Tumble Activity Toy from Golden Bear Toys. This toy is based on the very popular BBC children’s TV show Something Special that uses Makaton. Makaton teaches children to communicate using signs and symbols with their families. You can find out more about Makaton at www.makaton.org.
The Mr Tumble activity toy is based on the character in the show and is about 12” (30cm) long. He is very soft and cuddly and is very colourful. When you press the button in his hand he starts to talk and has 6 phrases: “That tickles”, “I’m Mr Tumble”, “Ah ha”, “Do you like my bow tie?”, “Da Da, Do you like my waistcoat?” and “Hello, How are you?” When you press the button his nose also lights up.
Apart from the lights and sound Mr Tumble is also very tactile with different fabrics so has great look, listen and touch features.
I gave Mr Tumble to my 1 year old niece who has fallen in love with him, he goes everywhere with her and takes him to bed at night for cuddles. She loves undoing the Velcro straps on his shoes and waistcoat and is fascinated when he talks to her with his nose lighting up. Suitable for children 10 months and upwards this is a great activity toy.
