I always think when it comes to Valentine’s Day, sweets and chocolate make the perfect gift. Confectionery is a real classic that you know your loved one will appreciate and enjoy. Plus they may even share with you! There’s definitely plenty on offer with Valentine’s displays in stores now. However if you are looking for something a little different then you may like to treat your Valentine to a sweet treat from Rita Farhi. This is a brand I had not even heard of let alone tried until recently. They were established 16 years ago and I now wish I had known about them sooner. Rita Farhi has a huge selection to choose from on their website. I am so very glad I got the opportunity to try two of their products this week.

The first item I was sent to try is:

Rita Farhi Heart Pralines

These are gorgeous milk chocolate praline hearts. They arrived packaged in a clear gift bag tied with red ribbon and a description tag. It’s a 150g bag which equates to about twelve chocolates. Each heart is individually wrapped in pink foil making them look an absolutely gorgeous gift. They are in my opinion a perfect Valentine’s Day present for anyone you love. I was very pleased by the size of each heart as they are really big chunks of chocolate. I couldn’t wait to unwrap the first one and oh they were so indulgent. I thought they were rich, milky and creamy. A very satisfying treat and presented beautifully.

The second item I received is:

Rita Farhi Vegan Jelly Hearts Gift Bag

These are a 300g bag of vegan strawberry heart jellies. Again these arrived beautifully packaged in a biodegradable gift bag tied with a red ribbon. The delectable little jellies are handmade in Britain using natural ingredients. Combined with the biodegradable packaging and the fact that these are vegan they certainly make a very environmentally friendly present, which is an important factor to me. I was also very eager to delve into this bag of jellies. They look mouth watering and they definitely taste as amazing as they look. They have a sugary coating and are really soft jellies rather than being really chewy which I love. There is nothing worse than really chewy jelly sweets that end up getting stuck in your teeth. That is definitely not romantic! They have delicious strawberry flavour too. These certainly make for a lovely Valentine’s Day present especially if you’re looking for an alternative to chocolate. A sweet treat that can be enjoyed by all.
