Zoe Lyons is an observational comedienne who takes the world as she finds it and then pokes fun out of it.
Since starting reviewing with What’s Good To Do I have tried to review as many comics as possible with it being mine and my partners shared interest. What better date night than a night of laughter? And a night in the audience of Zoe Lyons was one of the best comical date nights that we have had. As a general rule of thumb we never research the comedian/comedienne that we are watching, who cares if it is the type of stand up that you prefer? You never know if it is something that you will like if you don’t try it! Watching Zoe we found that she isn’t the type of comedy that we prefer, for us we would usually prefer blue/slightly offensive comedy but comediennes like Zoe remind me of why we don’t research who we see… a true hidden gem for us. We spent the whole night in laughter.
With the recent election Zoe had lots of new material that was fresh in the news, she inputs her own personal experiences and shares them with her audience and she will even join some of you into her audience. But don’t be scared she is lovely! None of this picking on her audience, any chat amongst you is just friendly audience welcoming.
Zoe isn’t a stand up comedienne who just throws out a whole load of one liners, her comedy styling is seamless and well thought out. For me the best thing about a comedian is when they find themselves laughing to themselves in the middle of the set, it makes it feel as though that wasn’t planned to be said and it just shows how unique the performance is that you have just watched.
Look out for Zoe Lyons near you, she is definitely one to watch for.
On a completely different note Zoe revealed her age in her show and WOW!
A great show, definitely worth a watch and I hope to see her again soon.
