I have just been to watch Rock & Roll Paradise with my husband at the Grand Opera House in York – it’s advertised as “The show that rocks you out of your seat” and they’re not kidding.

The show opened with Jerry Lee Lewis singing and playing the piano, as soon as he starting singing the audience were singing along too. The show was made up of Eddie Cochran, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and Big Bopper, they were all really brilliant and were impressive.

Big Bopper was really really good, as well as singing he was a really good comedian, chatting and cracking jokes with the audience and had everyone in stitches.

Buddy Holly was okay and was a good singer, in the 1st half he seemed less confident compared to the others but definitely seemed more confident and like he was enjoying himself more in the 2nd half.

I was a fan of Roy Orbison so I was excited about hearing him sing but his voice seemed to be over powered by the music – it would have been nicer to hear more of his voice clearer as he was an amazing tribute act.

Eddie Cockranwas soooo full of energy, running around the stage playing his guitar and interacting with the other members of the band – if I closed my eyes I could have believed it was the real Eddie singing.

Elvis Presleywas a good singer and had a good voice but I’ve heard better tribute acts before.

I was really impressed with the show, they had lots of different songs and had people up out of their seat dancing, singing and clapping along. When they sang together they totally absolutely blew everybody away. My favourite part was when they sang Great Balls of Fire, they had a big artificial material flame coming out of the piano which added to the song.

The 2 backing singers were really good and sang along to every song all night – I don’t know how they found the energy as they didn’t show any signs of being tired at all.

The show was absolutely brilliant and and I’m hoping it comes back again as I would definitely without a shadow of a doubt go and see it again.
