The Cook & Fillet is situated on the busy Aylesbury to Bicester road. As you approach it there is a sign for The Swan, which is now The Cook & Fillet, so we drove right past it but were able to turn around about 500 yards down the road. The restaurant itself is attached to a farm/deli shop so would make this place well worth a visit during the day to have a look round as it is closed in the evening.

The Cook & Fillet is immaculately presented, very clean and tidy, decorated in a traditional but modern way. The menu was varied, anything from pizza and pasta to grills. The food was very fresh, perfectly presented and obviously brought out to the table as soon as it was ready. The staff were very friendly, polite and on-hand for any requests without being intrusive.

The toilets were remarkably clean. Little touches like matching soap and hand cream and individual towelling cloths for dying your hands gave them a first class feel. My one criticism is that the door to the toilets is directly off part of the restaurant so I would not want to sit a table in that area.

Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant. In my opinion it is suitable for anything from family get-togethers, business lunches or a romantic meal. I very much want to return and look forward to enjoying a reasonably priced dinner but will also visit during the day to have a browse through the shop before maybe trying the lunch menu.
