Games for Families to Get Active

Let Nicky Kay from FitKid help you keep your little ones active during the winter months in side the home

Its been an amazing October so far but as the sun goes in and the Winter weather arrives, its always important to think of fun ways to keep your children active.

I encourage you to get out and about as much as possible but if your looking for some fun activities at home to encourage your children to remain Fit and Healthy why not try out this game listed below and let me know how the kids enjoy it.

Find a clear space in the house where nothing can be broken and the kids and you can run around safely.

Sock Ball Fun
Ask the children to head to their sock drawer and find 10 pairs of socks each. Find a blanket and seperate the room in to two by lying the blanket along the floor.

Get the children to sit down on the floor and turn each sock into a small ball. They each should have 20 Sockballs once all completed. Get the kids to split the Sockballs so half are on each side of the blanket and split the children in to equal teams on each side of the blanket. (if you have an odd number don’t worry as you can join in and help) On the count of three, the kids need to pick up one Sockball at a time and throw it over the blanket so it is on the other side, the children on the other side need to throw them back. When you shout STOP, the children need to count up the Sockballs on their side and the team with the least Sockballs are the winners.
