PREZZEE Digital Gift Card Review

It seems to be getting harder and harder to buy gifts for people these days. In this modern world of instant gratification, next-day delivery to your door and the ability to purchase pretty much anything we want on the internet; trying to find something different is mission impossible. So in an attempt to make life easier you may opt for a gift voucher but even that comes with its challenges. Choosing the right gift card can be somewhat difficult as often you’re restricted to a brand or shop, which if you don’t know the receiver well has its own challenges.
I was recently asked to review the Prezzee UK digital gift card which sounded like just the ticket to ease the stresses of present buying. The idea behind the Prezzee gift card is that you select the card type you want to send and the value. The card types can be event-specific such as for birthdays, new babies, weddings and of course Christmas. Alternatively, they can be based on different interests such as books, dining, travel and gaming to name but a few. You then have a choice of greeting to be sent alongside the card which can be sent in the form of a greeting card, GIFs, video’s, photo’s or audio messages. The Digital gift card can then be sent either by email or SMS at a time of your choice – you can schedule it for a specific date or choose to send it straight away. I love this idea as the possibilities are endless! Imagine ordering your eGift cards way in advance, you could plan out months’ worth of birthday gifts or have all your Christmas eGifts scheduled to arrive on Christmas morning – all without leaving the comfort of your own home.
I was lucky enough to receive a ‘Merry Christmas Smart card’ via email, the instructions to access it were simple and easy to follow. A link directed me to the website and I had a 4-digit code to enable me to access it – so it was nice and secure. After creating my login, I could then see my virtual Prezzee wallet containing the electronic voucher I had been sent. Here I had the option to swap it for a brand of my choosing. The beauty is that you can choose to split the voucher between different retailers. The choice of retailers is immense including high street favourites such as Boots, Starbucks and H&M, and supermarkets such as Asda, Aldi and Sainsbury’s and including online retailers such as Boohoo and Buyagift.
Once you make your selection your wallet is updated. It’s really nice looking through the options and choosing a brand – I got to go for what I like instead of being told where I could spend it. Using the eGift was really easy. For me, once I’d visited the online retailer where I had chosen to spend it and added my items to the basket, I simply input the card details (card number and pin number) which were available on the card. The payment went through as per a normal purchase. The experience doesn’t end there as I now have the excitement of waiting for my chosen gift to arrive.
I really like the idea of the Prezzee Egift Card and particularly the flexibility of it, with the ability to swap brands if you change your mind but also to split how you spend it. There is no plastic that gets thrown in the bin and the sender can choose how and when it is sent – it’s so easy I give it a 5/5.
