I have been really looking forward to the delivery of these slippers. Since the clocks have gone back and the nights are drawing in, there is a chill in the air which tells me winter is fast approaching and cosy slippers will be a must have in the coming months. I firmly believe if your feet are warm then your whole body will be too. Communication via email has been excellent from this little family business, keeping me informed when the order was to be dispatched.

My slippers arrived in a sturdy cardboard box with the Onaie logo simply printed on the top of the box. Logoed white tissue paper wrapped them neatly inside along with two postcards, one with beautifully photographed options of the various colour combinations of the slippers available, the other offering a discount code for a future purchase, again a lovely quality photo of what could be a mother and daughter snug and warm at bedtime in festive P. J’s and modelling the Onaie slippers, the adult wearing red fur and the child a soft grey. A smaller card detailed the materials that the slippers were made from, ‘The top and sides are lined with sheep fur. The inside sole is lined with sheep wool and the outer sole is made of genuine leather (split cowhide)’. The card also has the washing instructions and that the slippers were handmade in Poland, finally a link to their website.

The sheep wool is so soft and inviting I couldn’t wait to try them on, they are very comfortable, I am a U.K size 4, initially they felt a bit narrow at the toe, so if you have a wide foot you may want to go up a size, but I do think they will mould to your foot, the sole is surprisingly firm but not stiff again over time I am sure they will soften, however I do think they will hold the shape well. There are no rough edges, and the heel is firm, but I have no concerns of it rubbing. Overall, they are a very good fit, when I walk in them, they are comfortable and do not slip at the heel. They feel sturdy enough to walk around the house but equally cosy enough to keep them on when relaxing and I want to put my feet-up.

Looking at the website the slippers I received are called Snow Sheepskin Slippers and although each pair is unique so may vary slightly in design my colour combination is white fur, beige upper and a pale blue sole, the stitching is a matching beige thread with a metallic pattern embroidered onto the top. There are many designs to choose from. They also make a range of men’s, children’s and the cutest baby sheepskin booties and if you can’t decide on one design why not go for a reduced-price option of having a lucky dip and let someone else choose for you. They would make an excellent Christmas gift, the Red Wool Slippers are on my list, lets see what Santa brings.
