Our beautiful Clara doll came well wrapped in protective bubble wrap to ensure safe delivery. She was then secured to the cardboard container in just three points, this is such a plus with a child’s toy. I want my toy to be secure but often I find myself wrestling to open and free the toy so this was a refreshing change.
Clara is a doll who is a ballerina who comes accompanied with her pet cat in a cute pink ballet bag placed on her arm. Clara’s bag was attached to her arm with a strong piece of cotton which would allow you to leave attached if you wanted to but was easy to detach. Her tutu was attached in the same manner. Clara’s cat was attached to her bag by a ribbon which we liked as it kept them together and gave us less pieces to loose.
Clara is 30cm tall and really lovely to look at, very attractive to the eye and made from a lovely soft material making her a perfect cuddling companion. I have a four year old girl who looked like Christmas had come early when she saw the doll and played with her as a ballerina posing her and acting out a ballet class. She swiftly named the cat Jess and fell in love. However come bedtime it was in my three year old son who cuddled Clara all night. So although maybe traditionally a girls toy this lovely doll was well loved by all sexes in this house. Clara has been in our home for a week now and is still being played with daily, riding on ponies, attending tea parties she is a very versatile toy who is now very much part of the family.
There are add on items available to buy, extra clothes for the doll or other dolls in the range which can swap clothing with her. I like that these are available and would give extra play options to the children but that the doll is still a fun play item without needing to buy them.
The quality of the doll is outstanding, no loose threads, all limbs and hair well attached and I feel that she will last well even when played with lots. I liked how the tutu had double thickness netting underneath the skirt which was folded ensuring that the edging of the skirt wasn’t rough against the children whilst hugging her. The labels recommend machine washing at 30 degrees, a lot of soft toys are wipe clean only so again I found this a great pro for Clara.
I have seen the Mini Clara doll priced at £25.99, at first I thought this was quite expensive, however it really is a well-made quality product and that’s what’s you’re paying for, something which will withstand a lot of love from pre-schoolers.
