A teeny tiny little greenhouse perfect for garden enthusiasts and the bonus is, it can easily fit on a counter or a windowsill! My family and I are extremely busy with sport and school and university (even during this strange covid lockdown season) and personally, don’t have much spare time available for gardening. But every year, we love growing a few new plants together as a family and it’s been a little tradition since my eldest son was a toddler.

With this nifty little greenhouse, you don’t need to prepare a great big garden to get started either! Standing proud (though admittedly, not standing particularly tall), the Miniature Indoor Greenhouse is a tiny terrarium ready to take on any and all petite plants your little green fingers throw at it.

Circa 30 A.D. in Rome, the Royal physicians warned the ailing emperor Tiberius that he must eat a cucumber every day. So begins construction of a specularium, a house dedicated to growing plants. A translucent roof crafted from thin sheets of mica allows sunlight indoors. The greenhouse is born! It is not practical for everyone to have a Greenhouse outdoors, so our clever designers came up with the concept of an Indoor Miniature Greenhouse based on the classic Victorian version, to allow anyone to start plant or herb seedlings on your windowsill. It can also be used for displaying Cacti and succulent plants.

The package arrived safe and securely wrapped in a sturdy box and wrapped in bubble wrap but I was slightly disappointed to find two small broken bits of wood inside the greenhouse as the packaging clearly states “sturdily and durable” wood. Regardless of this, it still worked perfectly well and no assembly was required. The roof simply rests on the base unit.

Made from wood and plastic, the little roof can be removed to for easy access and watering and also to allow your flowers and veg to shoot straight up! The greenhouse comes with a recyclable plastic tray to retain moisture and the item is easy to wipe clean. My children and I decided to use our little greenhouse for some beautiful succulents until we can start preparing our strawberry seeds ready for this year’s strawberry season. The inner plastic container easily allows for you to use soil and compost without any mess and any flower or vegetable could be grown in this little unit. We loved this cute greenhouse so much so we have now purchased a second unit as it looks so lovely on our kitchen counter and the wood matches our kitchen decor.
