Women’s Polaroid Sunglasses From Vision Express Review

How fortuitous, that I should receive my brand new pair of Polaroid sunglasses from Vision Express on the very first bright and sunny day of this year. They were sensibly packaged in a cardboard box with just the right amount of packaging to ensure their safety in transit. The sunglasses come with a hard red zip close case and also a soft drawstring bag which does a really super job of polishing the lenses and leaving them streak free.

The sunglasses I’ve got are the PLD 4079/S Women’s Sunglasses, they retail at a very reasonable £59 from Vision Express who are currently offering a 20% discount on their website as well as free next day home delivery, perfect if you’re in a rush or the weather forecast surprises you. They also offer a 60 day no hassle returns policy for complete peace of mind. These glasses would make a really nice gift, I would’ve loved to receive these from my children for Mother’s Day or even for my birthday.

The lenses are 57mm wide so give a slightly oversized profile which is my preferred style. The frames are made of smooth plastic (acetate) and are an attractive brown translucent tortoiseshell effect. There is a zigzag shaped diamante detail on each arm which makes them just a little bit sparkly. The length of the arms is 145mm and the bridge measurement is 17mm. The lenses are 50mm high. The glasses feel well made and I think they’ll last me a long time.

The lenses are brownish in colour and have a graduated shading which means that when you look downwards to read something for instance, the shading isn’t really dark and so you don’t need to take your sunglasses off to see better. The lenses are fully polarised and offer 100% UV protection which is essential because you can’t be too careful with your eyes. They let just the right amount of light in on a really sunny day and I’ve found that my eyes have been really comfortable even in full sun which |I normally struggle with. It’s also possible to have these frames as prescription sunglasses which can be done in store at Vision Express.

It is quite difficult to choose glasses online but the Vision Express website has a really quick and useful ‘try on’ function which takes a short video of your face and is then able to show you how the glasses would look on you. I tried this and found that the video looked pretty much exactly like the glasses do in real life so I would definitely recommend using that online tool to help with purchasing decisions.

My new sunglasses are very comfortable to wear, they don’t pinch anywhere or slip off my face and amazingly, they don’t dig into my nose or cheeks. When I take my sunglasses off I don’t have any embarrassing red marks on my face which is something I usually need to worry about. I’ve had a lot of compliments on my new sunglasses.
