Miraculous Mini World arrived in quite a large cardboard box so the fact that I had read it was a travel toy I was a bit concerned about its size! I needn’t have worried when I took the smaller box out it was an ideal, lovely and compact, size for small hands, backpacks, handbags and even some pockets.
The set I received to review is called ‘Miraculous Bandai Chibi Miracle Box Playset Amusement Park/Contains two Mini Figures’. As mentioned, it is described as a travel toy (water fountain, carousel and Ferris wheel) and is recommended for boys and girls aged 4 plus, I would agree with this due to the small parts however I know some 3-year-olds that would have lots of fun so maybe on an outing (with supervision) it would be ok?
It came in a solid plastic packaging with a clear front that had the travel pack open so you could see what was inside, this would be very appealing to children and although it had some moving parts it didn’t need batteries, that would be appealing to parents.

It promises a world of entertainment and imagination where you can ride on the carousel, explore the Ferris wheel and play in the flip up water mountain. I couldn’t wait for a visit from the grandchildren so we could explore this very interesting looking toy.
The children immediately recognised the Ladybug character from the animated series, Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, which was about two high-school students (Marinette and Adrien) and the adventures they got up to. Marinette and Adrien are superheroes and their mission was to keep Paris safe from the evil Hawk moth. Ladybug and Cat Noir is a French based series, that ran for 5 seasons. The production company is Zagtoon/Zag Chibi and is still popular with my younger granddaughters. This playset is based on the fantastic Miraculous Chibi YouTube shorts that they often watch.
We had decided that the very youngest granddaughter (5 years old) could open the box! She was very excited and kept turning it over to make sure the two mini figures, Ladybug and Stormy Weather hadn’t fallen out! She did struggle a little bit but as I explained to all the children it is so it cannot be opened easily when it’s on the shelves in the shops. They all understood this as we often see open packets and they are ‘horrified’ that someone has taken them out without paying! (They are by no means ‘purer than the driven snow’ but are developing a strong sense of right and wrong!) Being the most independent of all my grandchildren we had to wait patiently while she struggled! Eventually she asked her older cousin (10 years old) to help! hooray we finally got it out.
All the children wanted a turn (their ages range are three 5-year-olds, one 6-year-old, one 8-year-old and the 10-year-old) and really enjoyed finding all the little moving parts. As with all new toys it was popular for about 20 minutes with most of them and then really popular with three of them who played a lovely imaginative game for quite a long time. At the moment this toy has been kept in my house and has been asked for every time they have visited.
There are other ‘sets’ in the series so it would be easy to find one that would suit your child or would be a lovely present (birthday or Christmas) for a child who you were unsure of what they liked. As it can be taken out with you it would also be a handy toy to pop in your bag to keep them entertained whilst waiting for their meal! or to take on an aeroplane, car journey or holiday destination. I would recommend this toy.
