Marvel’s Spidey And His Amazing Friends Disc Dashers Review

With Christmas fast approaching around the corner, like most people I am definitely on the hunt for gifts. Multiple children are big part of the list to buy for so finding novel and good value gifts is a must for me.

I was therefore pleased to have been allocated Marvel’S Spidey and his amazing friends disc dashers which I hadn’t come across before. There are several characters to collect, including Spidey, Ghost Spider, Spider-Man, Miles Morales and Hulk. I was lucky enough to have been sent a set of 4 which gave me and by little boy a good sense of the range available. I can imagine how once children find out there are more in the series, they will want to collect the full set! This creates additional gift options for future as you add to their collection. The disc dashers are free wheeling model vehicles, each with their own design and integrated character. The main part of the toy are the two discs which can be loaded and launched from the front of the vehicle. This is great for developing motor skills in our little ones. Each disk dasher comes with two discs (the colours vary depending on the design) and can be stored in the back of the vehicle when not in use. The speed at which they fire out is quite impressive, however you need to keep watch as I can already see how easy the discs would be to lose. I wasn’t able to find this as an option online but being able to purchase extra discs would be very handy for this reason.

Each disc dasher measures about 13cm long so a good size for small hands yet a decent size toy vehicle compared to some. The toys are recommended for over 3 year olds due to the discs themselves being a possible choking hazard. The rest of the vehicle, for each of the designs I received (and I would imagine would be the same for the rest of the designs), is nicely designed with no sharp edges or additional small parts to be worried about so you can allow your child to play safely. The designs are well designed based on their individual marvel characters and the colours create attractive toys for children.

I do try and purchase most of my children’s toys considering the environmental factor. These toys are however plastic, so not what I would normally choose. However they seem pretty robust so I would hope that they can be passed onto other children in the future and therefore have a longevity aspect to them.

A downside for me was on the link given for purchasing the items, the individual character cannot be chosen and therefore it is luck which you receive when ordering. Now this isn’t necessarily a problem initially (unless you have a child with a particular favourite character) however once your child has built up a collection, getting the final one or two may prove tricky.

Overall I think these disc dashers are a great Christmas present and size and prize wise ideal for stocking fillers! I will certainly be considering buying additional ones as gifts for friend’s children.
